Two Chow Yun-Fat films chosen as best films from China - KBS
2005 A Better Tomorrow from Hong Kong, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon from Taiwan were named as two of the best movies in the last 100 years.

The film “The Promise,” starring Jang Dong-gun and directed by Chen Kaige, has been selected as one of the top-100 Chinese films, reported the Associated Press on Dec. 28. Chinese authorities chose the best 100 Chinese films to mark the centennial anniversary of China's film industry, and “The Promise” was included in the list even before it opened in that country on Dec. 15, wrote Xinhua News agency.Chen Kaige’s other production, the 1984 film “Yellow Earth,” was also among the 100 best films. The list also includes 12 Hong Kong and eight Taiwanese films. Hong Kong films include “Police Story” by Jackie Chan, “Drunken Master” by Woo-ping Yuen, “A Better Tomorrow” by John Woo and “Chungking Express” by Wong Kar Wai. Taiwanese productions include “A City of Sadness” by Hou Hsiao Hsien and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and “Eat, Drink, Man, Woman” by Ang Lee. Director Yi-Mou Zhang has seen three of his works make the list -- “Hero,” “The Story of Qui Ju” and “Red Sorghum.”Xinhua Agency also reported that the 100 top films were selected out of 220 candidates based on their artistic value, popularity and historical significance.
"Infernal Affairs" by Wai Keung Lau and Siu Fai Mak, "Rouge" by Stanley Kwan, and "Butterfly Murders" by Tsui Hark were also included in the Hong Kong films.
